Hard Wire USB Power?

Could I use one of these, and just rip it apart and hard wire it to the ignition switch?

I would be doing two of these, both would be simply charging devices. 1 is a tablet, the other is a phone.

This is what I used, took my stock accessory plug and hard wired it to a 12v constant and wired it up to a switch, so I could shut it off whenever.

The is the exact same one I used. You could definitely just tear it apart and hard wire it in, then leave it all behind the dash. Should work great. It worked for me, and others here from what I see.

I used exactly what you pictured. I got a Belkin adapter, took it apart, wired it to keyed 12V, covered it with heat shrink, then ran an iPod cable through my console. Worked great. Or yoiu can go constant 12v and use a switch.
