There is actually a bunch of different ways to bag a 4x4. I just might do my tahoe in the future.. But here are some of the pics i have seen.

This one is a hummer where they kept the 4x4.

Here is a AWD yukon bagged on 28s and the awd still works.

Here is a escalade with 4x4 still working.

So as you can see, it is possible to bag a 4x4. There is going to be some custom fabing going on but it can be done. I just wanted to share this because for the last year or two i have been reading and searching for info about doing this so i know what im getting into when i decide to do mine.

There is a huge difference between IFS (what you posted) and a solid axle, like the truck OP is talking about.

im not against it at all. Its the cost of all the custom fab work that stopped me.

Don't I know it, lol. I'm still undecided if I'm going that way with my Chevy but this summer we will know.

Tell me...does this smell like chloroform to you?

It is possible to bag a 4x4, but you are for sure not going to be able to drop it down as far as a 2 wheel drive.

O but there is.. Here is a guy thats bagged and slammed on 28s on his awd yukon like the one pic i posted above. I mean he cant drive that low but he can if he wants. He is on the tahoeyukonforum.

  • 2 weeks later...

Just noticed this topic. I have a bagged Jeep Cherokee 4x4, but just in the back. I never got around to do the front. I first used a kit from Airlift for a dodge durango, then didn't like how the bags kept blowing/leaking so I switched to firestone double bellows and hadn't had a problem from them since.

here is a pic and a demo

Honestly from a standpoint of thinking only about fab work...I don't see why a 4wd straight axle jeep would be that hard to bag.

In fact I would gues its easier then the pics on the last page. You could do a link setup similar to those lift kits posted but designed to lower the stance not lift it.

I still probably wouldn't put oversized rims on it..they just don't look right on a Jeep IMO...but if you did some nice 18's with somehting aggressive like bfg's for the snow and dropped it so it had that stuffed look..that would be badass.
