Audio odyssey Posted December 12, 2012 Report Posted December 12, 2012 I have an optima yellow top in the front but I don't know what size battery I need for the rear? I'm running 2200 rms with a stock alternator. My voltage gauge drops to about 11 volts, can't be good.
alaskanzx5 Posted December 12, 2012 Report Posted December 12, 2012 do the big 3 in 1/0 gauge? alt case grounded to frame, alt power wire to batt, batt grounded to frame? amp grounded to frame? do these first as they will help a lot in maximizing your electrical if you haven't yet. from there a d3100 or d3400 or equivalent should be good and ground it to the frame. t1500bdcp 2 t2d4 15" 1 t600.4 1 t400.2 1 set p1 tweets singer alt, tons of wiring, smd vm-1, 80prs, back seat delete, still in the works, aiming for a 145-147 with the ability to play 25hz up to 50hz.

I would think with a big 3 done properly and a yellow top up front, the voltage wouldn't drop that low. XS Power is about the best you can get, if your budget allows it. 8ight Posted December 13, 2012 Report Posted December 13, 2012 Honestly, in your shoes, I would first do away with that Yellowtop and get some XS under the hood. If you need a supplemental battery at that point spring for the largest one you can afford and call it quits. I'm gonna hate
SnowDrifter Posted December 13, 2012 Report Posted December 13, 2012 If it were me, I'd replace the battery up front with an agm one, get a small battery to go in the back clost to the amp, then get the biggest alt your budget allows.
