These LEDs any good?

I was looking around on Sonic Electronix and found their LED accent lights. They basically have the install bay and race sport accessories LED strips. Are either of those any good?

ebay has some good ones, the higher the price the better??

I've done a lot of work with accentuate lighting.

First off I want to saw your on the right track going with Leds, I have cold cathodes in my car and they are deffinitly a pain. You cannot extend the wires and have to run a ballast to step up the voltage. If I were to redo it I would go for led strips in a heartbeat.

After I had done the cold cathodes in my car I did some led strip in friends cars. For these I used ebay leds cause they are super cheap. There are two kinds that you can get off ebay; American sellers and Chinese sellers.

First of all the Chinese sellers are much cheaper, they run $1.00 to $1.50 per strip. The problem being that they are from china and shipping takes about a month sometimes. When they finally arrive, they will be inside only a bubble evnolope. 1/4 of them will be cracked and not working. Another 1/4 will not work fore who knowes why. It is extremely difficult to get customer service as well because they don't really communicate in English well.

I have bought between 20 led strips with this result.

With the American sellers there are many perks. They are only a couple dollars more expensive per strip, so cost is still extremely affordable. You get faster shipping times and better packaging as well. The downfall still is the build quality. Cheaply made with tiny wires, however I have never had an led strip come from an American ebay seller that doesn't work.

I would say your cheapest option is an American ebay seller, they won't be the great leds but they will get the job done.

More recently I have used led strips from super bright leds .com for an install. The cost is much more expensive but the quality is exponetially better. Talking about just the led strips themselves the wires are much thicker and overall the product is much much MUCH better.

I have no experience with the led strips you linked to but that is what I have learned from what I've done. If the leds you linked to from sonic are anything similar to the ones from super bright leds you will not be disappointed!

all of superbrightleds.coms led's have been awesome for me. and they have a huge selection. also if it dost work or you have problem (like stated above) you can actually get something done about it. do your self a favor and do it once the right way and you will be happy for a long time. its not cheap to redo cheap stuff again
