how to wire to 1 ohm!?

Reading wiring explanations is just confusing, there's a reason why wiring diagrams are used Like the one Kranny posted, are you sure you have it wired the same?

I've seen on more than one occasion people saying they have it right, then when they actually bother to check it, it's wrong.

Can you take pictures or draw a wiring diagram of how you actually have everything wired?

Also your power wires are way way small, 8 gauge on a 1kw amp? Do you even have it fused propperly?

And what kind of 4 channel do you have?

Might be a problem with the amp, that's caused by power/wiring problems from user error.

Also dont mess with wiring as long as you have power connected.

The diagrams are more confusing because a lot of things aren't labeled. I wired my subs exactly as I.V posted and it gave me a 2 ohm load, and when the amp bridges them voila, I have a 1 ohm load. I never found out the exact problem but I went ahead and re-did EVERYTHING, and turned everything on then... BAM, didn't stop to think about where my volume was at and I scared the S*** out of my self. Thank you everyone for helping me troubleshoot tho.

This thread gives me a headache. You clearly aren't following the instructions properly. You have 4 coils total(2 per sub). you take ONE positive from one side and ONE positive from the other side and run them to the terminal cup together. You take ONE negative from one side of the sub and the other negative from the other side of the sub and take that to the NEGATIVE on the other terminal cup. From the terminal cup, run the positive to the positive output on the amp, run the negative from terminal cup to the negative output on the amp. You repeat the process with the other sub EXACTLY. If still no sound, you have a setting wrong on your deck, a badset of RCAs, a bad amp, 2 bad subs(highly unlikely) or a dozen other potential problems. Take a picture or 10 pictures, put them on an image hosting website like Photobucket and copy the IMG link and post in a text box in this topic to show us what you have going on. Last resort, don't touch ANY of this yourself, find someone that absolutely knows what they are doing and have them help you.

I've done that.. I don't think it's a wiring problem anymore. I grabbed my old sub and hooked it up to the amp.. Nothing.. When i connected the wire to the sub it made that little crackle noise you hear when a sub connects, but that was it. I have two amps, 4 gauge running from the battery and then there is a splitter that divides into two 8 gauge outputs, and that's is how my amps are getting power. My 1000 watt 4 channel amp is working fine but the brutus 1200 watt rms amp is turning on but i get no music out of it. Do you think this is just a power problem? I have taken all the wires out, and put them back together as perfect as possible, I swapped rca's, I tried new speaker wire, idk what else to do...

since your 1000watt amp works fine....

try hooking up the wires for the 1000watt 4channel

to the brz1200

at least then u know if its the amp or wiring

why cant OP just get $5 multimeter from walmart and verify that the wiring and voltages are correct?

that brutus amp takes a 4 gauge wire by itself, shouldn't be powering it with just an 8 gauge especially when the power is being distributed.

I just would like the diagram to show where the terminal cup and amp is, it may be obvious to you but it wasn't for me.. I used the 8 gauge just to make sure the 4 gauge I was using wasn't the problem. Once I knew that wasn't the problem I put the 4 gauge back on. But anyways thanks for the help,, aaand the sarcasm... I got it fixed, subs are at 2 ohm(1 ohm when bridged inside the amp)and everything is nice and clean, and the subs are thumpin
