wellington Posted January 26, 2013 Report Posted January 26, 2013 Most I've ever done was one sub, one amp, one channel per voice coil. And I did this with 2 different dual voice coil subs. As long as the output is the same or near, it should be ok. I would not suggest opposite signals, as the cone will not move, which means it will not cool. Back when I was 16-17 yrs old, the big deal for DVC subs was to run the left channel to one coil, and the right to the other. Right and left don't always do the same thing. Some home speaker designs use a DVC woofer with a different crossover on each coil. This allows the designer to shape the output coming from the woofer. Two different crossovers aren't going to provide the exact same output. The two coils on the former create a magnetic field that add together. If they are not getting the same amount of power, they do not fight each other like people seem to think. They still add and move the cone based on the net magnetic field produced.
