Ken I can't speak for the HDC4's but I know the HDC3's are some bad ass subs, not bashing the product but if you're looking for a low tuned ground pounder these subs aren't what you want, with such a high fs and stiff suspension they aren't ideal for low tuned enclosure, sure if you put them in a box tuned to 30-32hz they will get low but that's expected with a box tuned so low, they like big boxes tuned between 34-38hz with lots of port, 14-18sqin per cube, the HDC3's can take a shit ton over rated power and it's probably the same for the HDC4's.

The HDC4's have a very stiff spider, which is why AQ reccomends a slighty high tuning of at least 36 to the 40's, about 16 per on the port, and a very large box.

This guy did a 154 from the trunk on a pair of the 12's on 2 AQ3500's, think he mentioned he had them in a large box, with a tuning of at least 38hz if I recall. I'd ask him on youtube for HDC4 12's advice

that should be fine with the amount of power you'd be putting to them, good control of the suspension and a flatter response

Looks like that 154 was at like 60hz or something stupid high. Ken its a reason there's not many 4" VC 12's on the market.

i've got mine inna 2 cube box with a 6inch aero.. digs pretty far below tuning (im tuned mid 40's) its on a dc 3.5k and it will get warm after a while but nothing too crazy.. i do plan to try some larger/smaller boxes soon as it warms up lol i think it could handle a larger box than what i have it in they are some stiff bitches

This isn't teeball. YOU DO NOT GET A TROPHY JUST BECAUSE YOU SHOW UP. Put the work in and then maybe get the respect when it has been earned
