I'm sure it would as anyone who has had a head gasket go bad will find the cylinder with the leak will be as clean as a whistle. that is probably the worst idea I have ever heard, You never want water in the combustion chamber. I do it and drive 25mi or so then do my oil change. I need to use it again lol. The procedure is the same as seafoam. Warm the engine to operating temp, pull a vacuum line, rev engine and slowly add water into the vaccum line. it will smoke like a bitch but it will clean the cylinders. It's just old school stuff man, I've seen someone throw a dorito down a carb before and the car didn't even notice, just kept on idling like nothing happen. Often times with cars that have never been taken care of that gunk/carbon is the only thing keeping it from pissing oil, burning oil, keeping the lifters from getting stuck, filling the gabs in your rings, crank, and the like. It's a crap shoot with an old beat up motor. Just a word to the wise...
