Guest DC Power Kyle
DC Power Engineering makes some of the best high output alternators period. They do lots of work for our military and produce extremely reliable units with the best low idle output. When purchasing a high output alternator I suggest buying the largest unit you can afford. HHR Ed
A 220a alt is probably all you need with 1 or 2 decent batteries in the back. 220a charging at 14.4v gives you 3168w. To find out power capabilities, you don't multiply voltage x current of an alt. Especially when there is loss in efficiency to take into account. Batteries are a huge factor that you left out. Alts maintain battery charge. They do not power your amps alone. Guest
you get what you pay for regarding alternators. you bet your ass a lot more abuse testing and modifications went into the $500 alts than the $300 ones.

8ight
Good to know. Always nice hearing that.good customer support goes a long ways in my book. Only problem I had with my 270 XP was not knowing I needed a sense wire. Called the number right on the unit and first person I spoke to was helpful and knew just what was wrong, was up and running no more than 10 minutes later! I'm gonna hate
Owen Hix
Can you explain the sense wire to me? I'm not really familiar with mechanical stuff like this. Just in case I go with a dc. -05 Chevy Colorado- Kenwood KDC-352U Headunit Skar VXI-65 front component speakers Polk DXi650 rear speakers Alpine MRP-F300 4 chan.
