Torres
ok...so...i went to a comp on the 2nd of feb, so i got metered on a TL, and only hit a 147.1. i thought it'd be louder than that. i peak around 43-46 hz. my goal is to break the 150 mark which i know is not easy. figured 4 15's and 3k watts to each would be a good start tho but my question is about ANOTHER new build (tho not for a few months) i got a crx style box atm. question is...how much of an SPL improvement would i see by making a wall? my friend says comparing these 2 types of boxes is like comparing a barrel shotgun to a sawed off shotgun as the wall has shorter distance to bounce or somethin like that. it was in a text so not the easiest thing to read sometimes lol. i dont think i could afford another 1700 bucks on 2 more amps atm, so you think if i build a wall...i could *possibly* hit that 150? or maybe a ported clamshell box? any input is welcome
andym85
i would say depending on where u wall it...like either behind the front seats or behind the back seats, it would depend...i would think that a wall right behind the front seats would be quite louder on the mic, because they put the mic in the seat for meca. u could always try shortening your port to raise ur tuning...that might gain u a couple of dbs Quote i likes me some audio stuff... Torres
16 cubes...i'd need to measure but 90% sure i'd still need it behind the front seats anyway. which i'm all for prevents me from riding everyone around lol. i may have to toy around with this idea. might get a rear view monitor style mirror and a rear view camera first so i dont have to lose my mirror heheh

Torres
yeah i was thinking of a clamshell style box too. hell...with some crafty thinking and wood working, i could fit 4 more. but yeah. there a difference in a regular wall vs a clamshell? and i've seen his video plenty of times. LOVE how everything looks alive
