Dozier Posted February 24, 2008 Author Report Posted February 24, 2008 God I am so damn frustrated right now it isn't even funny. I will post up pics later because I have to get busy today. It is nice outside. Ok, so I finished the sound deadening all the way to the seats, and walls even the roof up to the windshield. I will do the rest when I get done with the box and get back home. I don't want to pull out the seats here to start it. I have a second car to use back home. Ok so I started the box. The original plan was to build the box inside the car. Well I have the Termpak program and my buddy decided to see what I could get in there if we made a box that could be built outside the car. It worked, we got the right air space and everything. The problem was once we got ready to put the box inside the car, we realized, oh shit...The subs wont all fit in the front baffle. It was like by an inch or so, and even if they did fit, the port would not. So we tore it apart and started going over the wheel wells inside the car. We finished that and put sides on it outside the car and the back and roof. The box was too wide to go inside the car. I measured right at the top and bottom. The problem was in the curved sides of the back hatch of the Explorer, they curve up and in at the middle. I will post pics soon and you will see. I unfortunately did not take pictures of all the B.S. I just picked up where we ended up yesterday. So now I guess I am going to just use what is in there now and work with what I have. I will post pics tonight, and hopefully I will have the main outer shell finished with little bracing inside, just 2x4's for now. Next week is the fiberglass.
