Miguels Posted February 14, 2013 Report Posted February 14, 2013 the reason you kept blowing subs was due to clipping and user error.. the Sa-15 will do the same if not done correctly.. i had a brz2400 and it would clip under 50% of the gain. about 30% i would say so when i hear you say set it at half or 3/4. all i can say is good luck on your next purchase my logshttp://www.stevemead...-my-new-set-up/my blow through loghttp://www.stevemead...future-updates/ 96 ss http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/164094-96-impala-ss-build/
Miguels Posted February 14, 2013 Report Posted February 14, 2013 having a shop do it is the worst you can do.. when i first got the brz2400 it was tuned by a shop and was at 3/4 of the gain.. once i bought the dd-1 i saw i was clipping the shit of my system.. if you do get it tuned by a shop ask them how they do it and if it dont involve an oscope or dd-1 then just walk away.. and do not tune with a DMM either my logshttp://www.stevemead...-my-new-set-up/my blow through loghttp://www.stevemead...future-updates/ 96 ss http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/164094-96-impala-ss-build/
bassfreake Posted February 14, 2013 Report Posted February 14, 2013 You can fit 7-8 cubes plus port in there? that is why I am switching to 12s in my ride lol I have 15s right now but even with my massive trunk I had to do my 15s in a sealed box cuz a proper sized ported box wouldn't fit... however 3-4 cubes plus port fits nicely :-P Thanks I was pretty excited about the alt myself. kind of like a school girl, in a dress, on a swing. lol It's warming up enough that the donut-punching cyclist douchenozzles are getting their two wheeled fagmobiles out. My Build Log
Noel989 Posted February 15, 2013 Report Posted February 15, 2013 I go full tilt on any sub I get from day one, if you can't do that then you bought shitty subs. Back I. The day when I Got my fist system it was 2 12 kenwoods on a prefab on an 1800watts rms amp tune by ear the second i left the shop BOOOOOM BBOOOMMMM BBBOOOOMMMM probably clip hardcore Man I love those kenwoods after 5 years they still play Build Log - http://www.stevemead...-cruiser-el-pt/
HypnotizedMind 91666 Posted February 15, 2013 Report Posted February 15, 2013 Why would you not want to set your own amp.. Its not rocket science..Find an oscilloscope or Steve meade's smd dd1 and learn how to use it.. Even on the ear o meter you can keep an amp from blowing but its obviously not the safe method Head unit puts out a certain "preout voltage" 2v, 4v, 5v etc, that's what your gain is bring compared to Bottom line, the shops you're going to find will be shitty, just do it yourself, you don't need bass boost turned either lol Yes, you need another battery. Get a powerful agm deep cycle up front, or find out if your current starting battery is lead acid and just get a deep cycle LA for the back in a million, trillion, kabillion years,i would never play that song in my ride. I don't care if its clipped or not LOL. I feel like my nads got clipped after playing this for 15 seconds just to see what it was LOL. No thanks bro. Not into it.
