oldsoundguy
Man I sure hate to hear this about subs that I have. I have never ever ever smelled burnt coil on my subs. I am about to re tune my system and see if I can get a bit more out of it. Maybe I can get the coils to heat up a bit. 80prs Arc Audio Xdi 1200.6 (using active crossovers) Freaking awesome amplifier Incriminator IA 10.1 Focal PS 130v 5.25 (doors) 4" Faital pro Neo (kick panels) 3" Faital pro Neo and focal tweets( dash) DC Audio level 3 12" custom box designed by joex built by me AGM front, XS 750SE batteries rear DC 180 alt 99 Toyota Tacoma extra cab http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/179476-my-small-build-turned-into-the-ongoing-build/

The distorted muscles in his face that he lost control of laughed hard! Hello! It was good meeting you yesterday. Loved your clean set up And grant. I seem to be the only one that hasn't had any issues with mine and I'm throwing a solid 3k with soft clip. I do plan on getting 2 AB hds I did want the hdc3s but since SQ coils suck now I'll go with AB I was happy I got first at the comp! Woohoo
DubNDodge
Well here's a overdue update. So I sent in the sub to get reconed again. They called me up and said that they couldn't match up the other sub I had because they switched cones (rumor has it they switched coils as well). They offered to recone my other sub no charge to me whatsoever, including shipping. So I shipped that bish out and got back to brand new hds300s. I'll say this much, they haven't gotten smelly once. I am very pleased with these subs. It was also killer of SQ customer service to recone the other working sub free of charge. Here's dem sexy beasts. Oh, and time to push them a little further to their limits. Poor things. only problem is that I can't mount it on top. Going to have to mount it on the back of the box. Oh well. Got the 2200 tore out going to throw the 3000 in tomorrow. oldsoundguy
I hope your not disappointed in the CT Sounds amp. I had one running my two HDC 3 12s but now have the Soundqubed 2200 and its just as loud if not louder. I hope your experience is different. Love soundqubed CS department. One reason I have all their gear in my truck. 80prs Arc Audio Xdi 1200.6 (using active crossovers) Freaking awesome amplifier Incriminator IA 10.1 Focal PS 130v 5.25 (doors) 4" Faital pro Neo (kick panels) 3" Faital pro Neo and focal tweets( dash) DC Audio level 3 12" custom box designed by joex built by me AGM front, XS 750SE batteries rear DC 180 alt 99 Toyota Tacoma extra cab http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/179476-my-small-build-turned-into-the-ongoing-build/
walwalka
That CT amp is almost twice the power as the 2200D. I wholeheartedly believe when tuned with a dd-1 and cc-1 it will be way louder. oldsoundguy
I did tune with a DD-1 and CC-1. I am only speaking from experience and not just out my ass as I have run both amps in my truck. 80prs Arc Audio Xdi 1200.6 (using active crossovers) Freaking awesome amplifier Incriminator IA 10.1 Focal PS 130v 5.25 (doors) 4" Faital pro Neo (kick panels) 3" Faital pro Neo and focal tweets( dash) DC Audio level 3 12" custom box designed by joex built by me AGM front, XS 750SE batteries rear DC 180 alt 99 Toyota Tacoma extra cab http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/179476-my-small-build-turned-into-the-ongoing-build/
DubNDodge
Got the 3000 installed today. Took a bit more effort than expected. Was just going to throw it as far left on the backside of the box. Well the only length of 1/0 I had wouldn't fit so I tried to center the amp. Then the RCAs almost didn't fit. Then got the wires how I wanted them to and made them look clean. Went to tune it and nothing lit up, had 12v remote, had power to the amp, slave/master switch to master. I started to panic and started texting people to trying and help me trouble shoot. Paul nailed it with the fucking HU Remote or Bass Gain remote turn on switch, it was set to the bass gain remote. Well it is a good bit louder than the 2200, how much? I don't know I didn't have time to meter. The subs can't handle it though. Got smelly half way through a song. So my options are to either sell the 2200 and turn the 3000 down a bit, or just go back to the 2200 and sell the 3000 because I really don't feel like getting new subs. I guess I just needed reassurance that just throwing more power at subs isn't going to make me gain all that much. Here's how it turned out though, excuse all the damn smudges on the amp. Humid as fuck today.
