CJ18
If there is any doubt, I would fuse, in my particular situation, I just really didn't want to have to deal with 12+ fuses.

srool
Shouldn't the fuses protect the amp? why short wires don't need fuses? And 150X4 is 600A, which is 100A more than it should be, wouldn't it be a problem?
meade916
Shouldn't the fuses protect the amp? why short wires don't need fuses? And 150X4 is 600A, which is 100A more than it should be, wouldn't it be a problem? the shorter wires just mean less chance of an accidental short. i don't fuse any of my amps either. I DO have a fuse in front of every single battery though. If the amp is going to blow, a fuse on the outside of the amp isn't going to stop that. Its going to blow regardless. I have never in my life replaced an onboard amp fuse and had the amp work again. Once it's gone, its usually gone. What you need to worry about is keeping the car itself from catching fire. Fuse every wire that touches the positive terminal, at the terminal... and you should be good. C-Fizzy
Fuses don't protect your amp, they protect your wire. Which will keep your car from burning to the ground. Quote under construction I hate People with crappy primered cars rolling on hubcaps that are louder then me. u hate c-fizzy?
