I'll have to post pictures of the massive amounts of waste. We threw away almost 140 laptops this week, all where core2duo and above.

shit. Save one and send it to me? :-D I need to get one. Anything will work for now. Lol. Jk unless you really could get one. :-D

And congrats on the promotion. :)

Just got a slight promotion today at work. I'm now in charge of over 3000 laptops, across the entire US, imaging, deployment, and repair. Also rearch and testing of new tech.

That being said, I'm not sure how many of you have done mass deployments (over 100 machines at a time). What are some techniquies you guys impliment for imaging? What about non, network imaging (drive cloning). Any luck with over the wire (AIK, etc) toolkits? They're looking to upgrade the imaging setup at work, right now its setup for about 36 machines. Problem is, its not very light touch. Any ideas?

ENGLISH PLEASE!! anyways congrats on the promotion man!

Yeah, the issue I have with that is it HAS to be done over the network, and its highly dependant on AD.

im not a fan of doing it that way. especially if they dont have their laptops in the hands of an experienced tech. Are you doing a full refresh? new os load etc? what we do since everyone has the same machine is load an image onto a drive and then ship the drive. If they cant take a few screws out and stick a drive in a laptop they dont deserve to have it.

Takin' out the trash!

Sounds like you have my job now, managed services- I take care of 1000s of business customer PCs remotely. Congrats man.

You could even send printed visual instructions since they are all the same.

I'm gonna hate

We've got a stack like that of D630's at my work too. I can't think of anything I've ever done that was more boring than DBANning 80+ drives my first week there. Thankfully we hired a new guy. Taught him the ways of DBAN on his first day.

wtf is lolcats?

I'd def get a fat hooker if i had to resort to that kinda thing. I feel like they'd be grateful and work harder. Also its more bang for my buck, more real estate for my dollar if you catch my drift. its like the Costco of streetwalkers.

I was hoping for 150 :(.

I was hoping she would let me put it in her butt
