agm charger

Ok do you know if the charger needs to hold the voltage about a certain point or does it work its way up. I will look into that charger.

Not sure exactly what you are asking, but once you plug it in (BT Plus) it will work its way up to 15v and then hold it until 80%, then drop down to 14.3v once to 100% it drops to 13.4, where it will stay as long as it is plugged in.

If the battery is in an environment where there is a parasitic draw, and it goes below 100% it will go back up to 14.3v until it reaches 100% again.

Hmm seems I was misinformed by someone. Could have swore that XS said to charge at 15A. Hmm. That was my bad Mike.

Correct, charge at 15A. Maintain at 4A or below

Still digging for the thread I read the 4a from

Edit: Can't find it, but I feel stupid now. I didn't realize you guys were talking about recharging, I read right over that and thought maintaining. :throwrock:

I use the Battery Tender Plus. It has 3 steps it goes through. Bulk charge, which charges the battery up to 80% it charges at 15.0. Once it hits 80% it drops down to 14.3 until it is 100% charged. Once it is 100% it maintains it at 100% at 13.4. It is a 1.5A charger. My D925 rested at 12.7 before using it, now it rests at 13.1 after using the charger on it every other week.

i can also give credit to this. my bt100 used to rest at 12.8 and after using the BTplus on it for a while, after 24 hours of not touching it my battery will rest at 13.1

If you need to charge your batts up quick, you might want to think about a different charger. But if you have a day or a night to just plug your batts in you'll be fine.

And from what I've picked up from some people, it's better for your batteries to charge at a lower amp current.
