Or it does not matter and keep it like this? Originally i was planning to make a 4 15's c pillar wall for my xb but realized i can't get 14cuft without taking out the rear seats so i ditched the idea and saw this thread. I'm thinking of building 2 of this and place it side by side to form a wall. My question here is will it matter if i put the subwoofer closer to the port so that if i put my rear seat's backrest up, you'll still be able to see the subwoofers. Thanks in advance. To put this thread back on topic, to the OP, where you able to build this box? I would love to hear some feedback how this enclosure sound.
ncochran Posted June 6, 2013 Report Posted June 6, 2013 I have an 06 xb. If you don't mind losing the spare tire (you won't ever get to it anyway with 2 15s in the back lol)... There is another cube or two (as well as a couple inches of height and an inch or so of depth hiding where the spare tire and storage are back there. You still won't see 14 feet, but you can probably get close to 6 staying below the seat line, and about 10 without taking the seats out. Max dimensions without that false floor in there are roughly 15d x 37w x22h staying at seat line and not following angle of the seat. You can actually go 38w but it isn't the best idea as it leaves no room for power/ground wires (depending on where you mount the amp). The upper section can go 3-4 inches wider if you were building a wall. I have seen this done by essentially building 2 boxes and putting them together.
