Clif Posted February 8, 2008 Report Share Posted February 8, 2008 (edited) So yea... i saw this comming just really never prevented it. was jaming out to Akon I wanna F*ck you, it was slamming hard. Key word Was.... Half way threw the song, i smell somethen like a sweet smoke.... then it hit me look back to see some comming from my amp and 2 sec later it shut off and gave a whole boat load to fill my car up with smoke.... But needless to say it was pouding hard and sounding great so it went out with a bang. The victum: One of my 3 Cliff Designs 2400 watt monoblocks. i pulled off the back panel expecting to see exploded cappacitors or a burnt resistor maby get luck to a burnt mosfet..... after a bit of looking and using my nose to follow the smell i found it right next to a heatsink. As i look a bit closer for a sec i relized those heatsinks are sitting on some mosfets!! so one of them started on fire along with a resistor! well now time to see how much it is to get them fixed or if i should just get another one off ebay? At the end of the day it was fun and that amp was pushing some power. Clif Posted March 21, 2008 Author Report Share Posted March 21, 2008 Um i dont know if its 2400 watts but i would think its dang close, i will have to test it on somethen sometime. I used to have one of these pushing 2 10" and 1 15" cvrs running in tri mode. It worked out nice and it made them thump like no other. I think its by far the best amp i ever bought for 170 bucks. And they come with a one year warrnty that i just took aadvantage of but yea i will have to get back to you on the actual power.
