Apart from the freq response I can't really tell you much. I've never built a bandpass box.

It all just depends on what you're looking for, but neither of the options available there is really good for car audio as they are so flat.

People usually aim for a peaky response that matches the cabin gain to get the final response to be linear.

But you're probably allready aware of that, looking at your pics :)

thanks man even though ~80% was a guessing game. lol

this is the design i'm gonna go with because its about the best i can get it without wasting a bunch of money on trial and error builds with the box as large and awkward as it is.

SD, thank for the input. I would have replied earlier, but I was measuring the output of my amp with a yardstick . . .

As I said, I'm not experienced with these boxes, but what you have there might look a bit too peaky.

Just a feeling I get, as I have played with WinISD and the filters that can somewhat simulate cabin gain a while back.

I would find someone that has experience with 4th orders in cars to run the design by, so they can give you some pointers on what to look for.

Do you have measurements for the box yet? I should be home about 5 today...then I have the gym at 630 so I got a small window to get you a sketchup done.

Ok I will play with the ratios a little bit and try to find someone with more experience right now it's a 1:3 ratio.

My understanding is 1:3 will give a peakier response...1:2 will give you a flatter response but not as loud...If you want to surprise the shit outta people I would keep a peakier response thats louder. IMO

OK here are the final box specs for the 4th order. The ratio is 1:3 with 0.786ft3 sealed(this will be divided into two chambers) and 2.357ft3 ported(just one ported chamber).

That space is factored in..

I think for it to be isobaric they have to share a sealed chamber and be in a push/pull configuration...I could be off though. Just my understanding.

Do you have definitive measurements of you maximum space?

Do you use sketchup? If not I could do a model for you if you get me measurements.

I do not know how to use sketchup yet but if you would be willing to draw it up that would be awesome man! here are the measurements: 556709_163108613844676_2087246872_n.jpg

thanks for your help!

These are the final dimensions. sorry for the missing dimensions on the external port i had a brain fart and could not figure them out lol just let me know if there is something i'm missing. all the dimensions are external unless noted. it will be built with 3/4 MDF too kinda important haha

dude that looks awesome... you did that in sketch up? lol please teach me your ways :P I got about as far as a big flat rectangle on the ground in sketch up and then realized how to make it not flat anymore lol that's about the best I could do though lol

Thanks I was pretty excited about the alt myself. kind of like a school girl, in a dress, on a swing. lol

It's warming up enough that the donut-punching cyclist douchenozzles are getting their two wheeled fagmobiles out.
