Isobaric t-line ?

How does isobaric loading factor into t-line box design if at all? or is it just not compatible?

CURRENT SYSTEM:

  • Alternator:
    1. Stock alt on mids/highs
    2. Isolated DC Power 270 SP - Charging @ 16.8v
  • Batteries: (2) XS D1400s
  • Power Cable: Double Runs of 1/0 KNU Kolossus Fleks
  • Headunit: 80-PRS
  • Sub Amp: DC 5.0k
  • Subwoofers: 2 RE MT 15s /PSI dual .7ohm recones
  • Subwoofer Enclosure: 9.1cubes @ 32hz - brutal.
  • Mids & Highs Amp: CT125.4
  • Active Components:
    • Mids RE XXX 6.5c
    • Highs - 3 RE XXX tweeters per side(A pillar)
  • Noise Control: Damplifier Pro all over the cab.

Never seen it done ... but would be better musically (dynamics), but for SPL ... not so much

Agreed, SPL would not be the goal, just wondering if the iso loading would have any effect on the box design/tuning/ length etc. If i understand the T-line concept the cone area of the driver wouldnt be changing and neither would the resonant frequency - so the box would stay the same.

Im running an isobaric push/pull in my truck and I know CablGuy is running a push/push. Sound quality and accuracy are definitely improved over standard loading. So you COULD try it with the T-line and see how it goes. Just use the airspace requirements for one sub as opposed to 2. Im interested to know the outcome. You can set it up with a single sub first, get some good listening in, then do your compound loading and see if you like the difference. Just do you know, you typically don't want to try this with subs that have monster Xmax.

I built a box a while back to try it out, it works but i didnt compare it to anything else.

The specs on that build are a t-line tuned to 35hz with 2 rockwood 8s in a push-pull design and there being powered buy the stock sub amp of a 03 suburban

Idk how much power there getting but it sounds good for what is. I can't get pics because the build was for a family member
