Amp for 2 12" DC Level 3's

Recommended Posts

I am buying 2 12 inch level 3s and i dont know where to start to look for a amp, i know that DC's subs can handle over the rms all day and i would like to run more then the 900watt rms but i cant tell if a amp is good. for example i know if it says 3000 watts but it doesnt say rms that its not really 3000 watts, but im looking for a good amp that is going to let me get the best out of my subs.

If you don´t know if them are doin rated, look at the fusing rule by thump 100 amp of fusing = 1 K watt RMS.

I guess you a SoundQubed (before AQ) 2200 or a Crescendo 2 K, or the said DC 2 K.

Who told you not to run more than 1.7K?

DC 2k is perfect for a pair of Lv 3's

Here we go with another build.  This one won't be as slow as the Chevy TB and I'm excited for that.  This vehicle is my work car so I work on it profusely week after week.  I am hoping to get this one done by end month so until then here are my plans.  If what you see sounds familiar it probably is, but I won't tell...🤔  Thanks everyone prematurely for the comments and hope to have some good reviews from this build.

whats up fam. so heres a quick run down of my system. not a trunk build, not a wall, just a simple ugly back seat build lol i am a construction electrician with my trunk almost always full with tools and material for work. only other spot to fit a sub box with out doing a wall is my back seat. i just need some bass! not really going for looks. ive had some pictures on what i had before (just went from a skar evl15 to a dc xl15 and sae1500 to a dc 2k) so here are some recent pics... hope you guys enjoy...

i personally did the big3 with sky high 1/0 up front and ran power from front stock battery to rear full throttle group 34. messed up by getting a blue big 3 kit instead of red lol oh well.

heres what it looked like before i swapped out the sae1500. the rest of the wiring was done by arden audio in sacramento. when i went home and did a lil inspection i have noticed the ground going to the 4ch amp was just self tapped in with 3 screws on the frame of the vehicle. wasnt too happy about it so instead of complaining i just went ahead and fixed it. both grounds are now sharing an existing grounding point directly under the driver seat. everything else was fine, thanks arden audio!

and heres the box just sitting on the back seat haha

So I ordered a Sound Magus VS2000.1 this weekend.
Pretty excited considering what I paid.  Despite not being a widely used brand, I hear good things about the VS series.
Anyone have personal experience with Sound Magus?

I have a 2300hct. It works fine. But their is a mosfet under the board..right under the power input. I noticed one of the lights was busted and grounded out on the heat sink. And the lights don't work. So I think it's a power mosfet for the lights. Anyone know what kinda mosfet it is? I would like to replace it. It's burned to a crisp. Can't make anything out on it.  I know their are a ton of audiobahn haters out there. I got this amp to match the immortal I have. And it will push it just fine. I'm not trying to compete with it or anything. So it does the job. Any input would be great! Thanks guys

Here are some winISD simulations for a DC XL 12 (dual 2 ohm) subwoofer in a 1.75 cubic foot box tuned to 31hz (square port) at 2200rms at 1 meter accounting for coil inductance.
If anything, I'm posting this for the amusement of anyone who has bought or is thinking about buying a DC XL 12 as I just did.
How accurate to you think these simulations actually are (other than not accounting for cabin gain)?
Any thought provoking comments or questions?
