Amp for 2 12" DC Level 3's

24 posts in this topic

I am buying 2 12 inch level 3s and i dont know where to start to look for a amp, i know that DC's subs can handle over the rms all day and i would like to run more then the 900watt rms but i cant tell if a amp is good. for example i know if it says 3000 watts but it doesnt say rms that its not really 3000 watts, but im looking for a good amp that is going to let me get the best out of my subs.

If you don´t know if them are doin rated, look at the fusing rule by thump 100 amp of fusing = 1 K watt RMS.

I guess you a SoundQubed (before AQ) 2200 or a Crescendo 2 K, or the said DC 2 K.

Who told you not to run more than 1.7K?

DC 2k is perfect for a pair of Lv 3's

You are talking about 2 of them right? A 2k would not even be as much as they could take. But would be just fine.

Hey I recently bought a sundown amp but I am a little confused on how to wire it up. They show a diagram in the owners manual but I don't really understand it. It's a monoblock amp but it has dual out puts. Do I just use one of the positives and negatives? Or do I just take 2 from the positive out put and connect them together and then do the same thing with the negative output? I know I could probably guess and it would work but I just wanted to know what the best way was.

Hey guys, I am new to this forum and would appreciate all the feedback I can get! Decided to go with sundown because of all the positive reviews and great community!
Anyways I want to build something that will give me the bump I am looking for in my daily driver. I had 2 15 kicker l7s previously with rated rms. This will be for a 2012 chevy Tahoe with alot of room to work with. After tons of research I have decided I really like the X series.
I am thinking about ordering 2 x15's with an either sundown4000.1 or the skar 4500.1 (little cheaper) (student loan life) and building a custom ported box to spec. Now with it tuned correctly and installed correctly, do you guys recommend upgrading electrical for this set up? All feedback is greatly appreciated, and suggestions are welcomed.

Owned by @Dannys Rosenberger and located in Germany....All i can say is this is probably the best collection and display of classic/vintage car audio i have ever seen. This video is a must see! The MUSEUM is a must see! I hope i can soon! He just invited me on FB   I really wish Germany wasn't so far away, but someday i hope to see it!  If he posts more video's i will post those here too.  Thanks for the invite Dannys!
