Smurfboy Posted April 21, 2013 Report Posted April 21, 2013 Just curious: how hard is to cut the back-wall (firewall?) on the truck? Just trying to get some idea here... Here in Kentucky, the weather is unpredictable (hot day and then rainy day the next day; and then snow on Saturday; then hot on Monday, etc.) I mean weather is crazy, haha. But how do you guys make sure that the whole system in the back of bed is completely weather-proof? I assume the whole system must be 100% sealed any area that is air-leaking.
CleanSierra Posted April 22, 2013 Author Report Posted April 22, 2013 So I will be throwing a bedcover on at some point here. What my plan to do is coats of primer, and then a rubberized bedliner. It will be weatherproof fully. As far as cutting the wall, I'll be using a grinder with metal cutting discs. It will take a few discs Im sure, but I'm pretty handy with a grinder. Ill also file what is left and sand it down so it's not full of burrs. Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.

Sawzaw seems terribly violent and like I would bend sheet metal. A grinder will suck but I can get the straightest, cleanest line with a metal grinding disc. I really do appreciate your input though, and by no means am trying to be hard headed. I looked into the plasma route, since I have a good buddy that's got one. He's the one that shyed me away from it because of the drdripping slag. I know it's gonna be time consuming with a grinder, but I will dedicate some time to this, in order to make it right. Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
