CleanSierra
So my 4th order for my blowthrough in the GMC IS designed! I'm putting the big boy pants on and have decided to cut a big ass hole in my perfectly fine truck. The design I have is a straight 3:1 ratio with 9 cubes on the ported side and 3 on the sealed. The subs in question will be 2 Rockford Fosgate Powers(circa 1998-1999). These will be reconed to handle 1500W RMS(maybe if I can keep my low Fs) and Im looking at the Team RF carbon fiber dust caps for a clean look. I've got this box pretty well figured out. Tuned to high 48 Hz range, with NO bracing! Im going double ALL sides on the box including the baffle that the subs will mount to inside of the box. I would think 1.5" of MDF should be strong enough to not flex with just 2 15s, what do you guys think? Also, I already picked BKolfos brain about port area per foot and what would be needed for these subs. The way I've got it figured now is 240 inches of port. Im thinking that should be enough also. I want a well rounded flat responding enclosure and I THINK this will get the job done. I want something VERY musical that will also get down and should put a decent number up. Any ideas, thoughts, suggestions, or feedback, let me have it Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.

CleanSierra
Im not used to boxes that take a bunch of wood either. This double layered box is only 48" wide, 43" deep and 19.5" tall, but it's going to eat 4 sheets of MDF It should squat the rear perfectly Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
Swordlordboy1234
Good thing about our hobby... We load down the rear with bass... And then we only gotta lower the front saves money on lowering kits My old YouTube channel : http://www.youtube.com/user/SwordLords1234?feature=mhee My old build log : http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/161872-96-accord-b2-sundown-sky-high-dc-power-re-re-build-for-heatwave/page-37 My New Build - http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/207041-2016-mazda-6-sql-build/ 2016 Mazda 6 Touring JL Fix 86 - OEM signal correction B2 prototype DSP 6to8 B2 Ref63 - 3 way active set 2 B2 Class H quattro's 1 B2 Zero.5R @.5 2 B2 HNv3 12 d2 B2 SLIP40 - Lithium in the trunk Northstar Group 35 under the hood 100ft 2/0 welding cable 30ft 4ga welding cable 20ft 8ga welding cable All stinger OFC speaker wire Soundrive custom RCA's Tons of attention to detail.... scoobywrx05
Are you gonna use the stock baskets with no basket spacers and keep about the same xmax as they where stock?
CleanSierra
I'll be using a stock 4 spoke baskets, yes. As far as Xmax goes, I haven't discussed that much as far as goals with PSI yet. They will be the ones that I cough up $330 to. It's going to be a compromise on the recones because I want good Xmax for sound quality and I don't want a terribly stiff spider pack because I don't want to change the T/S specs to make too high of an Fs. I realize if I want to make them able to handle 1500 daily and safely, I may have to compromise. I may just say screw it, keep the 1000 Watt rating and keep my ultra low Fs intact. We shall see, but I've not known a lot of people that were dissatisfied with these badass Power series. Here's pic of the baskets: Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you. Hotdog
I have a 4th order with 4 of those subs. Those are not hx2's they are the older model RFR2215 power series. I called Rockford Fosgate when designing my 4th order and they told me to put them in 1.5ft^3 sealed per sub. I have a 3:1 ratio with 6 sealed and 18 ported. Plays phenomenal I believe the guys name at Rockford that I talked to was Forrest (NEW) 2004 F-150 Build Log -->http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/192208-hotdogs-f-150-build-log/ 2003 Mercury Mountaineer Build Log --> http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/114380-hotdogs-2003-mountaineer-build-log-20-removed/page__gopid__1602379#entry1602379 2008 Equinox Build Log --> http://www.stevemead...g/#entry1475764

CleanSierra
Sweet, less space is a good thing. I'll just trade off sealed for other I guess, but that makes my ratio awesome. So 3 for sealed, 9 ported. I had figured 5 sealed 10 ported so that means more bedspace yayyyyyy! Means I need to be on the lookout even more for 2 additions. Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
