Pro7
So please explain to me why it wont fit like this. When they are moved off center of eachother just enough to fit. I've gotten a blowjob and picked up my iphone behind her back to see what email notification I got from smd before
mrlovethatbass21
Because there is only a height of 37 inches total , so 18.5+18.5 = 37 plus 3" for wood top and bottom =40" height which I don't have.
Swordlordboy1234
If you stagger them... Suddenly each sub overlaps about 2 inches each... Subtract 4 inches from your "40" and suddenly thee is a 36 inch max. Here is an example for you... Take cans of soda.... Line them up in a "flat wall" configuration with them exactly over each other and evenly spaced...now measure inches from the bottom of the round part on one can and continue to the top part of the can above that...now take those 4 cans and set the top two a bit over to the right and keep the bottom ones the same. You will find that because they are staggered they take up less space. Much less space. Same idea with your wall. Off set them just a bit. mrlovethatbass21
Only thing about a wall it's not guaranteed that four 18"s in a flat wall will be louder than smaller subs in a 4th order. I went to sbn this year and heard four zv3 18"s in a flat wall and it was no were near as loud as Jared's truck with the four zv3 15"s in a 4th order. MrSkippyJ
Clam shell, it's been mentioned a few times. Try it and see, if you don't like it, keep the shell sell all your subs and hope you are right about how magic a 4th is. Joe X
If your box is no good no matter what order it is it will be overtaken.
xx1
OP. I think you should go with the 4th, I mean your friend jared its doing pretty good with it, and so is luckyishere (smd member) with 4 12" as many others, plus if you go with ported wall an have success you will still wonder if the 4th could've been louder. just my opinion you should do what you want to do, after all its a hobby. audio related merchandise (decals, banners, lanyards, hats, shirt, etc)
