Noticeable gain from sealing off?

Recommended Posts

I know a lot of people don't prefer using expanding foam on their rides and I'm somewhat one of them... How much difference CAN it make on earometer/spl meter. I know it depends on the setup, but I'm just wondering if its worth the time/mess/cost (not money)... I've done a firing forward sealed setup, and I'm in debate. I still get a good bit of trunk rattle....

Think it will be noticeable difference to use foam?

Still have a little more work, looking a little poopy still...

IMO sealing off makes a huge difference on how clean and accurate the bass sounds vs rear firing stuff. I will find out this summer about sealing off :D

honestly sealing it off with expanding foam is the way to go, alot of people will line the area with tape and foam on top of that....

seeing that you cut apart the opening for the backseat, it isn't going to hurt you much to foam it and seal it off completely...

I just sealed off from the start. I didn't want trunk rattle.

This is how I did it.

Made some side panels, with foam rope to seal it off.

OP, Hella nice job. You went from not knowing if sealing off was worth the trouble. To looking like you've been sealing off trucks your whole life. Like I say "Shit Ain't hard".
