CJSmith
This isn't a vs thread. I've been looking around and found a set of RE MT 18's that are blown for $350 for the pair. The MT's and Mayhem's look identical cosmetically. My question is, I have 2 Mayhem 18's. Can I buy the MT's and recone them with Mayhem recones and run them together? Thanks for the help. *Rebuid in progress*
kalilac619
The RE MTs are more of a SPL sub where the Mayhems are More of a daily ground pounding sub.RE MT and Mayhem motors are VERY similar same size even BUT the MT has a tighter voice coil gap and mayhems runs a wider gap plus mayhem has cooling etc...think older Fi BTL fully loaded Triple stack motor ..i wouldn't do it.. 2000 Suburban 6 runs of 2/0 12 timpano audio mids,6 timpana audio tweets and 1 timpano compression horn per door 8 banks of blue Maxwells + 260ah of Yin Long LTOs 2 370 Amp Autotech Alts mids amps 2 Crescendo Skyway 3ks Tweet amp Crossfire 2000.4 sub amp: 4 Crossfire XT 8ks Subs: 8 18 in Crossfires in a 4th order Best Scores at events… 161.6@38hz DBdrag sealed on the dash… 162.54 outlaw…161.14 Meca headrest

The old BTL is commonly known as the 'UFO' version due to it's flying saucer looking single mag... I can also confirm that they are both 3" and that they (MT) were designed to be an SPL sub but was later found that they play music with some serious authority. The motors visually at least are identical. Neither has a pole piece either... I have an MT motor right here, if someone has a Mayhem motor, will you take some measurements? No, the old version was a triple stack like the MT. It got replaced with the UFO style motor No pole piece? Is that even possible in a sub?
