Sutliff
2003 Monte Carlo Went out for the first trip of the spring since December 4th, & I am listening to tunes & all, & for some reason I depress the TRAC CNTRL button to turn it "OFF".It RESET my radio!I was listening to a CD, & the radio went fully off, then right back on, & kept playing where it left off on the CD ...all setting the same. The Light on the dash or TRAC came on properly. I hit the button again to activate TRAC, & the radio was fine. I hit it again to turn OFF, & it reset the radio again. It continues to do this every time I turn the TRAC off, but not when I turn it back on. It is an instant off/on, I do not have to hit the power button to turn it back on or anything.I have an aftermarket (Pioneer) headunit that I installed last year, & I have never ran into this phenomenon before?!? Sutliff
I am using both the ASWC & the GMOS chime-retention, NON-onstar module from Axxess. UPDATE: Yesterday I went to unlock the car with the remote, & after hitting the button 2 or 3 times - to unlock both doors - the radio came on! LOL Also the steering wheel controls (Mode & Mute) are not working properly. Sometimes the Mute, ATT on Pioneer decks, is activated by the Mode steering wheel button, too. Ugh. Sutliff
Your module is going bad Which one? Or am I "lucky" enough to likely have BOTH of them going to Hell at the same time? Did having it sit for 4 months with the BATT (POS) unhooked possibly do harm? PS: Thanks for the initial response ... Sutliff
I replaced the ASWC, & nothing changed. #Ugh Returned it. Then EVERYTHING stopped! After tons of testing, finally found out it was the GMOS-01 (Metra/Axxess) module. How often do these modules go bad? It was ONE YEAR OLD - wired properly, on a new Pioneer deck, stored during the winter. The other thing I am thinking is an electrical "spike/surge" when I hooked the BATT back up. Any other ideas? Are there better steering wheel control & chime modules out there for GM vehicles out there besides Metra/Axxess? Thanks ...
