jizzybizzy
The Story The FedEX guy FINALLY came after phuxing me over 3 times and he drops my new subs off (as seen to your left ) and i put them in all is good.. then i hook em up to my Sony Xplode (lived up to the name) and it was straight up SLAMMING my seats were SHAKING my windows were FLEXING my car was ROARING.... and poof. everything shut off... the power/protection button used to be green and now theres nothing.. my alpine amp still lit up and my highs were screaming. my digital amp read at 51 degrees when the sony shut off. if that matters The Question WHY DID IT BLOW? I had the gain set at about "1 o'clock" and i had all the wires secured. i had the three (+) speaker wires tied together put in the + "BTL" spot and the three (-) speaker wires tied together in the - "BTL" spot on the amp. is this why? The Answer? Ive been told for the money(i have to stay around $200) and the power i need (i have 3 - 500rms Polk MM124s) are these pretty decent amps? Will these "XPLODE" Hifonics BXi 1606D (1600W RMS Brutus Mono Amplifier) Crunch Pzi 3000.1 (PowerZone 3000W D-Class Mono Amplifier) Edited February 13, 2008 by jizzybizzy Quote you ain't been bizzy til you've been wit jizzy. kingsuv
Sounds like that Sony amp didn't like the impedance you had it at. Quote Designing, building, and shipping boxes. I mean the first minute is ok but that thing just really starts digging deeper and deeper in your earhole till you cant stand it no more. Seems like it does it with relative ease....16 12's on 8 amps.........gotta love it.

loganuf
the hifonics amp and the crunch amp will be able to handle that low of an impedance? No they won't unless you are doing burps but by the sound of it I take it you're a daily driver. The Hifonics amp and Crunch 3000.1 can be wired at 1 ohm. I had my Crunch 3000.1 at 1 ohm with no problems and my friend has a 1606 at 1 ohm with no problems either.
