kingsuv
With everything that has been going on in life the past month, I wasn't really open to take on another build. However I can't resist helping someone get louder and more competitive. Scott was able to slide in to what will be the last build out of my garage. Clean simple 2002 blazer ready to see some serious upgrades. It's always nice when just about everything you need for the build is dropped off with the truck t's also not a bad day when you have your shop manager doing most of the dirty work while i work on more important tasks No better place to start then under the hood. This has to go. Plenty of room to add a few upgrades. First hurdle was to get around the PS filler neck Here it is with the bracket loose. Bout 1/2 away from being perfect. So I cut it up and made the center section out of rubber hose. It is the exact same length so it still reads correct on the dip stick. Tight fit but works perfect. Next was to relocate the air intake. needed a new spot for a sensor. Rubber glued into place. Sanded the inner section to fit the new flex tube. Not a huge fan of the blue flex tube, but I was limited on options that met the budget 3 ohio 275's not a bad way to power up a system. Adjustable voltage for when you want to get silly. I mean the first minute is ok but that thing just really starts digging deeper and deeper in your earhole till you cant stand it no more. Seems like it does it with relative ease....16 12's on 8 amps.........gotta love it.
kingsuv
Some 1.5" trap unions work great when running a bunch of wires through metal. Through the floor, under the panel to come up just in front of the batteries. Props to sky high for sending out heat shrink with their wire orders. Nice way to clean up the install. Battery rack was simple enough. 3 - 3100's fit in nicely. No shortage of connections to be made. The cover for the spare was missing so It looked like a good spot for the 4ch. The amp rack is free floating from the sub box. This helps when you want to pull the box as well as keep the vibrations down. We also added a couple holes to help vent the heat. Little tight. Simple fuse holder for the 4ch. We reused the origonal 1/0 run for it. Lastly, the fuse holder for the amp and batteries. Amp and alts on one side, battery bank on the other. kingsuv
not too much to show on the box. we needed 13" away from the headliner, so that is what we have. Little flexstone paint. And for the money shot. Box is tuned to 37, she wants to peak higher for a burp and a little higher then tune for music. Not too bad for stiff ass subs. Should be interesting to see what the scores are once she breaks in. Burp Music. Designing, building, and shipping boxes. kingsuv
Guys at Ohio made it. My hats off to them for creating a true drop in kit. The bracket fit exactly like it should, there was no crazy washer shims needed, and the belt was the right size. Other then relocating the PS filler, the air intake and rad hose, it was a very nice process. Designing, building, and shipping boxes.
