Sorry OP, not trying to steal ur thread or anything, but this may help you too. What about optimas? Their yellow and red tops? I've heard of people using them before buy not so much anymore. I like them because they are inexpensive, but are they any good??

IMO they're ok and if you need batts on budget sure. However, if your going to be running allot of amps/ only a couple amps with lets say 5k total, it's going to take a couple more optima's versus getting some other brands like XS, Kinetik, and etc.

Just depends on the system.

Better XS-Power and Stinger, Nathan from XS-Power stated that only XS-Power (still "the" top notch car-audio batt on the market) with Stinger are comparable.

Brett, a h/o alt is not needed for that. I'm running about 1500ish rms (never really took the measurements, go ahead, lemme hear it) and if you upgrade your batts, you should be good.

But don't say you don't want a h/o alt because it does severely limit you. My main problem is dimming headlights (working on the fix, don't worry) due to cop mania where I live (See at least 5 anytime I go anywhere). You can only go so big. You say you're only running 1300 now, well wait a year or two. You'll want more. Then more. Then even more. I said I was good with my system. Done, I don't want anything else. Next plan of equipment I have is to get louder. So much for being done huh? took awhile as been this way for a year and a half but... it'll happen. And unlike most, i can't get a h/o alt (every company says nope)

I 2nd you taking a look at the Deka or Remy batteries if you're on a budget. But IMO if you have the funding I would definitely go with a couple XS batteries.

If I might add, if your not looking for a big h/o alt, try and find a place that can rebuild yours for a higher amperage than stock, get some extra juice.
