Other ways besides processors to get a "Full" range sou d?

If you take your time and have pride with your install's driver placement and have a really good headunit with time alignment and EQ ... there is really no need for additional processing ... or going active for that matter.

And when done this way ... it will sound more "realistic" (dynamic) while giving you a nice stage and image at the same token ...

Then again ... Just my suggestion here

Correct. Correct. Correct.

There is no mystery involved in good sound. Loudspeaker design, placement, and installation are your biggest hurdles. When going for SQ it is all about getting flat (which I am sure you know, not everyone reading may) and when you have different drivers they excel at a specified range of frequencies. For a flatter response rather than use a 6.5 to cover 80Hz-3kHz and a tweeter to cover 3kHz+ one may choose a 6.5 that can cover 80-1.5kHz, a dome midrange that can handle 1kHz-3kHz and a tweeter that can cover 2.5kHz+ to achieve a very flat response. If every driver is being used under optimal conditions and the frequency response capabilities overlap ideally no driver will be rolling off (and losing linearity, generating mechanical distortion) before its crossover point. Place and install your drivers correctly by testing until you are happy and... boom! Full range sound! Done, flat, and easy.

After your installation you can use an EQ to iron out as many peaks and valleys in your response curve as you can, obviously. You will need some degree of processing to truly enhance your sound quality, electronic crossovers (separate or off the deck) and time alignment (separate or off the deck) can make a massive difference if you can utilize those features. Not everyone is ready to make these sorts of investments but they are worthwhile.

When it comes to Sound Quality Stage and Image ... Sound Quality Stage and Image comes fist, then installation looks !!!

Measuring tape is your friend. Makes things much easier when testing and tuning for Time Alignment and Equalization ...

And instaed of overlaping drivers, learn to use your vehicle's resonance to your advantage (when you get this far in your installation testing and tuning, you will start to understand what I'm talking about. It's something that can not be explained over the net, you have to literally experience it for your self.) ... Just ask Josh Sharp (MichiganCapri92), you know, the Shiny Red SQ convertible !!!

I should remove any confusion I have made about driver selection, there are many good solutions to the same problem. That is only one technique I have taken a liking to for selecting home speaker components where the number and size of drivers to choose from is nearly unlimited compared to the options available for installing in a mobile environment.

EDIT: I type too fast.

doesnt that just mean you have a HU with processor capabilities instead of a stand alone processor? it's definitely the cheaper option but its still a processor and an active crossover.

If I answered you in a well mannered, informative way, you asked a good question or had a good attitude. If I was an asshole, you asked a stupid question or you had a fucktard attitude... or I was in a bad mood.

yes but this way you have less things the signal has to go through ... instead of the music signal going from source to amp to speaker ... its going from source to processor to amp to speakers ... its one more thing to add less realism to the music ... and also more signal wire for parasitic noise to enter in through. i would suggest HU with the bells and whistles such as the deh-80prs

Okay thanks for all the help you guys!! I appreciate it. I need to find the resonance frequency of my car but i will get there when i get there lol.

Like my original post said im going for a SEMI- SQ build. Im not planning on competing or anything i just want something that satisfies my needs for right now.

Looking to keep it under $1500 if i can, which is duable i thinks.

I might run active i might not, depends on what i can find.im just looking for something to sound good with a full respone

LABaudio502 (good friend of mine) has the RTA software and meter and all that so if i can find a 3sixty i will have a good flat respone with everything
