Currently have stock 110 alt soon to be EA 200 amp, Big 3 done, oem batt in stock location and 2 kinetik hc 1800 in the rear. Need some immediate help as i am going to be making my purchase today!!
shogen Posted May 3, 2013 Report Posted May 3, 2013 I mean.... I don't think you have enough electrical for either setup.... but honestly I wouldn't run an amp under 1 ohm if I were you... no experience means you'll f it up unless you get lucky Pioneer Premier P880PRS ll Front Stage: US Acoustics 4060 - Random speakers currently ll Sub Stage: Crescendo BC3500D - 15" Xcon sealed @ 3.28 cubes ll Electrical: - Kinetik HC1800(front) NEW***DieHard P-2(rear) beaker- I know this sounds like a lot of anime bullshit, but it is true.
ChevyBoy95 Posted May 3, 2013 Report Posted May 3, 2013 With your electrical, go with something at 1 ohm. I would recommend saving for a larger alternator if one is available for your vehicle. Make sure you have at least two runs of 1/0 to the back, one for power one for ground, four or more would be better. You can use a chassis ground but I recommend dedicated run(s) to the front battery. As for your amplifier choice - pick what suits your needs. I would run two amps at 2 ohms strapped before one at .5 ohm. As far as the amp, buy whichever amps you like the looks of best all of the Koreans (American Bass, SoundQubed (AQ), Sundown, etc.) are the same for all practical purposes. I'm gonna hate

Unfortunately noone makes a HO alt for my car. Would have to send in a factory alt and have it rebuilt to get the 200A from EA.

Have you gotten in touch with any of the major companies providing high output alternators about a custom or a unit that will fit from another vehicle? If DC Power Engineering https://www.dcpowerinc.com/ or Ohio Generators http://www.ohiogen.com/ can't help you I'm not sure who can. I'm gonna hate
TylerParrish Posted May 3, 2013 Report Posted May 3, 2013 I'd get the Sundown for now and run it at 2 ohms until you get your electrical up to par. And vehicle is too new for people to be making HO alts for it just yet. This me and Tyler have the same vehicle. 2013 Forte Koup, altho i have spoken with kia dealer saying it is the same part number as the 10-12 models. Spoke with ohio gen 2 days ago and they were supposed to call me back yesterday to tell me if they were able to find out any good info, but alas no call recieved. Spoke with mechman as well as tenney they do not make them and didn't offer any solution really(seem uninterested).

That is why I suggested the companies I did, they are both sizable businesses with the staff, parts, and time to do work like this. I'm gonna hate
