barney91
head gasket eh? explain to me why that oil is on the valve cover around where the valve cover gasket meets the head, not the head gasket. Thats caused by oil seepage and dirt collecting. Combustion gas fluid test or a 4 gas analyzer would be the way to test that for a head gasket issue in the radiator neck to test for combustion gasses in the cooling system. As for the plug, being that isnt a shiny looking black and more of a flat black, i am going to say that cylinder is running rich as hell. If it was a shinny black, it would be a severe oil burning issue. the spark plug had oil on it i cleaned it off with my finger, the car isn't popping codes she just had emission at the end of last month Alpine 9884 RF T2 comp set up front The Epicenter 2x RF T10001bd 2x Sundown sa-15 t-line Big 3 Smd DD-

barney91
Ok guys pcv valve is good, all the other plugs are good and i did notice that the air filter is some what dirty and that the exhaust smells like gasoline, I'm thinking it's from the bad spark plug Alpine 9884 RF T2 comp set up front The Epicenter 2x RF T10001bd 2x Sundown sa-15 t-line Big 3 Smd DD-
boostin302
its going to smell like gas from it running rich from the fouled spark plug. only problem with running a compression test is that if the oil ring on the piston is bad, the compression test wont show that. to me, that is what it seems like. the oil ring is/has gone bad. only thing I can think of is to run a one step hotter spark plug and see how it reacts to it. probable wouldn't hurt to run some sea foam through the system and clean everything out. 95legwagon
Deff the head gasket bro I'm a tech and I know for a fact its a head gasket My car had a bad head gasket and the plugs were normal.... if your talking about your subaru, there's a reason for that...... they dont blow headgaskets the same way as other cars in most instances.... coolant doesnt actually get into the cylinder..... exhaust gasses pass into the coolant because the gasket deteriorates in a certain spot almost every time...... did the put the new updated MLS gaskets in? Hope so i think there real i was looking through that guys stuff he sells and it looks like he finds stuff at auctions and just sells it Yea, it looks like someone got the mids about a month ago....shit. Dman1320
best bet would be a leakdown test. that way you can actually hear where the leak is. could be bad rings, or valve guide seals. as far as the leak on top, clean it off really good, and just run it to see where the leak is coming from.
