mwjustic Posted May 13, 2013 Report Posted May 13, 2013 my 2 18's love double bass so that argument goes out the window. but back to the op. i think with 6 15's you sill still be plenty loud and you will be allowing more cooling for your subs in a ported box. 2005 ford explorer xlt limited 4x4 2 xs power d3400s 2 runs of shca mid/ highs- infinity 6x8 3 ways 2 18 ssa icons 2 aq 1200.1 @ 2 ohms 10 cubes tuned to 36 hrz
john253a Posted May 13, 2013 Report Posted May 13, 2013 Who says ported doesn't work for rock? Why are you creating these barriers for yourself? Tight bass= good for rock since its short notes on the bass guitar and the drums.Ported is loose bass and is good for long rolling notes and longer booms right? This is so wrong and you are very misinformed My guess is yourve been around to many poorly built or prefab boxes Op Post some pics of what your look at doing And power And even some measurement if your open to a few other designs
