What made you go with that wide surround? Most subs ive seen at full power didnt stay linear wirh super wide surround... like the x series

Well, of the cones I could get my hand on, none of them seemed very rigid, so being out of phase and slightly non-linear travel with them seemed somewhat likely.

I went with this because the cone is very strong, that surround looks so hot, and I won't have as much xmech as those woofers even have for xmax so I don't think my surround will deform as much.

a bit for deformation on the surround does not mean loss of linearity.

No sub really is very linear, its a nature of the poor design of the spider pack.

Any time you have have a power wire next to your frame put some rubber hosing (or cut up an innertube) around it. The wire is bound to wiggle (due to driving or flex) and the casing will eventually wear through.

^what he said. What we call "linear" and what is truly linear are not one and the same. As long as it's in the gap and not rocking side to side enough to scrape or distort; it's "linear"

Also, could there be an issue with running the 2 different kinds of spiders? Because I don't want to glue them on and then have an issue with them. The plan is still the 4 stacked 8" spiders on the landing just below the single 9" spider with the leads on it, should I just go with all 9" spiders? Or is it irrelevant?

I dont think running two different types of spiders will matter.

If you're worried just put them on a pipe and push down and take a picture of each and compare their deflection with a photoshop overlay or something.
