I don't think you are going to get a clear answer as this falls into a 'VS' type thread... But good luck with the build...

i will be running a kicker zx2500.1 for all the subs for now but eventualy get another 2500.1 but i dont really know what to go with. i want something with great sq but still put out some major spl. it will be going in a ported box tuned around 28 hz.

You can arguably do both options on that power but seems to me that the L3s would take it better, now if looking for loud SQ I would look at Fi/AA/SSA and such kind of subs.

With 5kw, tuned to 28hz, and with loud sound quality in mind, I'd go with Ascendant Havoks, ssa icons, fi qs, tcsounds axis, or Sundown X series.

*New vehicle and system coming soon.*

Either sub should be fine for what you intend to do as long as your enclosure is done correctly and you dont go stupid setting the amps. Although from what i have seen i would tend to believe the SA's would take it a little better.

Now with that having been said, please do not make vs/comparison threads. There are to many variables for anyone to be able to tell you anything very constructive honestly.

This is why vs. type threads are generally not allowed on this forum.
