Figured out my buss bar situation on the rear batteries Should have made this battery rack 1/16" wider because its a super tight squeeze! Like not sure I'm going to be able to get these out? May have to just put them in the truck with the rack and everything lol...250lbs...no problem...jk that's going to suck! Here's how it will be, not sure I'm going to be able to use the dual inputs we will see. not enough room on there for 4 runs per amp and 4 runs off of the the alts. I dont think so anyway? Funny how the people who have a louder system than you will usually give you a compliment about your setup because they know how much blood, sweat, time, and money you put into it. The people who criticize or try and one up you....have a p.o.s to no system at all and will tell you all about this "other" guys system! Saddley I'm sure if I meet this "other" guy...he will probably tell me he thinks your just as annoying as I think you are! I'm not compensating, just proud of fabricating! I figured I should with using dual inputs tend to drop the voltage down a bit more than normal. At least from what I've seen. I could run just 2 from the alts but I just dont know.......? goodvibez Posted April 20, 2014 Report Posted April 20, 2014 Ok that got me concerned so went out and measured and they won't all fit like that, but if I narrow the fuse holders down width wise evenly on each side I should save a 1/4 off of each so that should give me plenty of room ...problem solved!! Got more work done on them tonight, shaved down the fuse holders like I was saying, and cut down the angled piece by an inch to give more room for all that 1/0 to fit a little easier. goodvibez Posted April 23, 2014 Report Posted April 23, 2014 So progress on buss bars today, I cut down my angled aluminium about an inch on the top side to give all the cables a little more room to bend in there Took a long time only using a 12 volt sawzall to cut 3/8" 18" long but it did it! Only thing I had that would get the job done lol. Used the drill press for the holes then just tapped away! I guess the drill press is slightly crooked because my holes kept getting slightly farther away from the front edge...nothing a washer wont fix just fine but still sucks doing al that work and have it be off smh...moving on! Couldnt resist filling up the rest...and as far as I know I will be using all of these! Thats after I shaved the fuse holders down by a 1/4"...kind of a tight fit but not too bad! Ill drill and tap the bottom buss bar tomorrow, my order from SHCA Shipped today so I'll be able to button up this little project! goodvibez Posted April 24, 2014 Report Posted April 24, 2014 Finished the Negative buss bar today after work, got it all drilled and tapped. btw that green goop is from Kimbal Midwest and it does an amazing job! Keeps the piece and the bits way more cool and saves your drill bits a ton of work and obviously makes them last longer doesn't leave a big ol' mess like cutting oil usually does...I don't know how it does it but it makes every part of cutting through metal waaaay better...I'm sure there's lots of product like it but I'm sold on this stuff! mounted it up, cant really tell but I swirled up this one with an air sander...always liked the look it gives off...moving on Lot's of connections for sure!
