So a TM1, OM1 and VM1 each on its own amp? With all internal wiring and fans, so nothings external? That'd be SWEET! Glad my buddy Tommylee stopped by...although I'm not sure he knew what he signed up for when he offered to give me a hand haha...Let's just say I'm glad this is DONE! Got the shca audio lugs in today..perfect timing fast as always! needed another gromet and found this guy at work...super nice! also made for trailer lights fits perfect in a 3" hole same as the on before posted a pic with part number if anyone needs it..made by "Grote" tons of rice rubber light housings to choose from took like 20 mins bunch of tools but cut the second hole...sucked because little parts were double layered and had to get creative to cut through the last parts..did it though up and into the engine compartment...was able to zip tie it to the fender well about 4" away from the exhaust so that was something I was worried about...worked great! vwalla! charging system pretty much buttoned up! gotta get some bigger wire clamps tomorrow so its nice and secured to the firewall and not held up completly by zip ties...should clean it up nicely! Lastly all the wire is ran into the cab! we ran some 8awg through first to get an idea on how much positive to run but came out a little on the long side but rather be a few feet extra than be a few feet short and waste 17' of cable...now I can get the batt rack in and crimp these on there and I'll have 5 batteries So yeah next is to get the battery rack fixed and mounted then get the batts in then get an amp rack for under the subs fabbed up and then I can start on the mids and highs... seeing a light guys....its not very bright but I can see something lol! I mean getting it all pulled through was a pain too but because you have to put that on cut it heat shrink it thennn you can run it so we had to run the 8 awg to give us an idea of how much we need because we had to prepaire it all...would have been so much easier to run the wire naked because I had 2 spools and could have just pulled it from engine compartment and fished it all the way into the cab and cut it where I needed it at the fuse holders....I will have to trim what I need by the batts and its not easy to cut back the techflex when its on the wire with out cutting into the shielding....oh well it will be worth it! I'm sure yours will look great, the biggest help was making the fuse holder mount and the buss bars for the alts...also not having the stock intake on there with that huge air box covering the engine....not sure what the purpose of it was other than displaying "duramax 6.6L" but oh well...looks like the tahoe is coming along! goodvibez Posted May 16, 2014 Report Posted May 16, 2014 so tidied up the wiring had to improvise but works looks better and eases my mind that it will stay there before and now couldn't find big enough loops like the ones I had before so got something they use for holding up conduit and wrapped in heatshrink you can see the old ones and the new bigger one...old ones just held one wire and rest zip tied to that wire...didn't like that also there are random studs sticking out of the firewall and thats what I used as an anchor, just double nutted(phrasing) to those studs now I spent several hours grinding the inside of the rear batt rack because I did not like how tight of a fit the batteries were in there...like not even a 32nd of an inch to spare because they are bigger on top than the bottom they kind of wedge them selves which makes them sit un even from each other so I figured grinding it really good on the inside and taking out the small radius of the angle iron and making it square that would help...but no luck...better but not good enough so yeah took out the sander and got rid of the lip at the top of battery so there was no bump at the top! before anyone gives me shit for taking a sander to my battery....you can just Still is too tight for my liking..if I pry the bottoms around they sit where they are supposed to...not good enough oh well I'll figure that out tomorrow! If I would have just added another 1/8th inch we would be perfect...oh well!
