Swordlordboy1234 Posted May 31, 2013 Report Posted May 31, 2013 So my boss just had his 88 silverado single cab truck done by a high end shop here. The install looks sexy as hell. Maybe ill post pics later. But he has a stock group 31 battery (not sure if its AGM or not) and a stock alternator. His truck is one of those old lowered hot rod trucks. Currently when the bass hits in his car it drops the voltage to 9v. Obviously I know that's bad. I'm curious if I can just pop his hood and connect my battery bank to his front battery while both vehicles run just so we can work on testing the install. The alternator and battery set up in his truck will be soon. n8ball2013 Posted May 31, 2013 Report Posted May 31, 2013 I would not try it connected to your cars electrical. Unhook the stock wiring and unplug your alt leads. That way its just the batteries off his alt. Still kinda sketchy though. Honestly seems like a lot of work for something when he is going to get an alt and battery anyway. Sergeant_Skyrim Posted May 31, 2013 Report Posted May 31, 2013 If you unhook all of your batteries from your stuff (alt, amps, etc) so that only your batteries are hooked together, and then hook that group up to his alt or batteries (with a safe connection of course) then I don't see what the problem would be. It'd be the same as having your batteries in his truck as his own battery bank theoretically Build in progress

But one things for sure, its gotta be soon. I was sitting in it today tweaking with some stuff, and the voltage drop is just stupid. We're prob gonna put two d3100's under the hood and get a DC or Mechman. It's a hot rod motor so I'm sure its gonna be fun to find a good alternator match for it that won't be over spun. A lot of cool things in this truck though. MMATS made one off subs for this truck, made a one off 3k amp, and its covered in Mmats head to toe. I'm jealous of the mid bass he has off those Mmats vs my polks... Who wants pics? This install is CLEAN. The guy who built it said its like 35 lbs of shit in a 4 lb bag lol.
