Wood's -2011 Altima- AKA "Red Ruby" : New Build (pg.150) #SpringBling

Recommended Posts

Speaking of install... I was able to run my power and ground to connect my secondary battery with my other sms220 that I will also be running and yank out all my old speaker wire that I'll be replacing for the rebuild. The rest of everything should be in by wed (besides the damn speaker grill cloth that I bought last monday and still hasnt shipped smfh)... I'm gonna have a LOT of wire running again so I bought some SHCA heat shrink with the labels on them which is what I was waiting on before I touched any speaker wire for the reinstall.. Other than that I just plan on making stuff look pretty with techflex, wire ferrules, heat shrink... the whole nine!! Car will be going to paint friday morning so I'm going to miss 3 days worth of work, so I'm hoping to get the speaker wire's installed by wed so I can just focus on installing equipment next week... Crossing fingers!!

Hertz and sundowns :-)

Good combination

I Appreciate it!! I must say it's a nice combo haha

Doors look good! Time to start thinking about mine.

Appreciate it man!! What type of setup are you looking to do as far as your front stage?

(2) 6.5s component sets for the front doors, 1 tweeter in the door, the other in the stock dash location. I have Crescendo Mezzos now...they are discontinued and I havent seen a new product yet. So, if I get a hair up my ass before new Crescendos are released, maybe Hertz (like yours!) or maybe some Rockfords or maybe I'll go active and get something else. Whatever I get, its definitely gonna be an extra speaker in the door.

Did you just start cutting on the doors? I'm not sure where I should start (when I do start).

That paint adds just a little touch of custom, not too much, not too little :)

Exactly! And actually with the speakers installed it tones it down a little more.. It's really nice... I'm gonna post a pic of it with the subs installed in a little :spiteful:

Oh ok! That would be nice!! I love my Hertz, they're my "dream speakers" so of course I would recommend them lol but I will admit, it could get pricey investing in them, but boy is it worth it lol

I was gonna go active but with me adding in the HSK130s, I would've had to buy another amp AND the processor, which is a bit more than I was trying to spend as I have other things I put my money towards to finish my car build as a whole... With you having the same mid and tweeters, you could bridge the output and use the processor to tune since each speaker have the same characteristics!! I would def rec going active if it's within your budget!

Also I did plan my doors before I start cutting lol... Every where I cut it is "just enough" to keep the doors as rigid as possible... For my particular design, I used the door pocket area, so thats majority of where my cuts are... this time around I actually designed it to where I was able to screw in the speaker ring to the door so the section that was thin from cutting is now being supported by the speaker ring... Long story short, It's all how you design as far as the cuts you make..

Appreciate it bro! It won't be playing until Next week unfortunately.. Sending my car to the paint shop Friday morning and I should have her back on Sunday... Monday, I'll be wiring up the speaker wire and it's down hill from there since I have the power wire ran for both rear batteries already.. Just have to make everything look nice with Techflex, heat shrink and some zip ties.. So it'll probably be next Wed until I can get it playing.. Can't wait!!

If you notice, the paint is toned down, but still noticable... I love it!! Also with the subs in place, it makes the carpet look more detail!
