Wood
Bummer! But i understand. tuned in buddy! Starts in two days. Yessir!!! I can't wait!!!! And I wanted everything about my car to "flow" and I feel the doors don't flow with my overall theme... Plus them HSKs can get LOUD so I'm sure they'll be able to handle themselves quite well lol... Plus I'm going to deaden the roof, doors and throw a second skin speaker tweaker in there so I can maximize the acoustics in my doors and cabin by eliminating as much flex as possible!! 2011 Nissan Altima aka Red Ruby HEADUNIT: Pioneer AVH X2700BS ELECTRICAL: -Singer 230a -Northstar gr34 -(2) Northstar SMS220 w/ Custom Terminals from 12V Metalworkz -100% Welding Cable FRONT STAGE:-(2 Sets) Hertz HSK165 -Hertz HSK130 -Ampere Audio 125.4 SUB STAGE: -(3) Sundown Audio SA REV2 12's -Ampere Audio 3800.1 V2 MISC (NON AUDIO RELATED): -Interior & Exterior Lights LED -Gloss Black Roof (PAINTED) -15% Front, 5% Rear Tint -Roof Spoiler -20" TSW Snettertons (20x8.5 front, 20x10 rear) -Custom Projector Retrofit (FX-R 3.0, 6.5k HID, Morimoto Mini H1 (faux projector), Quad Starry Night Halos) ----- COMING SOON!! -Aftermarket Fog Lights -Custom Painted Engine Covers My Build Log: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/169869-woods-2011-altima-aka-red-ruby-new-video-more-updates/page-109 Retrofit Build Log: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/185787-hid-projector-retrofitting-diy-by-wood/#entry2765346
Wood
So A LOT of work has been done.... A lot of good and bad moments, but all in all great progress for shitty weather and doing majority everything myself.. Also due to the weather and not having a garage, I wasn't able to take as many pics as I wanted... So first off, some of you know the reason I haven't installed my alt is because my bolt was stripped and seized.. well I was able to remove the alternator with a bolt extractor Well, long story short... I made a mistake and grounded it out so I will have to send it back to repair... Was riding around on my northstar group 34 for over 45min and it was STILL sitting at a 12.5 before I found out the alt wasn't charging it! Anyways enough yapping, Here's pics of everything regarding the alt, battery and big 3!! After I FINALLY got that POS out!! The SEXY Singer Alt I actually did a Big 4... One ground from the factory alt ground, engine block and strut tower nice and tidy!! Northstar and CNF FTMFW And Here's with the engine cover on... As you can see, it hides MAJORITY of the wiring and looks every bit of factory I thought about doing Techflex, but with the majority of the wiring being covered, I figured I would just leave it alone... but who knows, I may go back thru and cover it anyways! 2011 Nissan Altima aka Red Ruby HEADUNIT: Pioneer AVH X2700BS ELECTRICAL: -Singer 230a -Northstar gr34 -(2) Northstar SMS220 w/ Custom Terminals from 12V Metalworkz -100% Welding Cable FRONT STAGE:-(2 Sets) Hertz HSK165 -Hertz HSK130 -Ampere Audio 125.4 SUB STAGE: -(3) Sundown Audio SA REV2 12's -Ampere Audio 3800.1 V2 MISC (NON AUDIO RELATED): -Interior & Exterior Lights LED -Gloss Black Roof (PAINTED) -15% Front, 5% Rear Tint -Roof Spoiler -20" TSW Snettertons (20x8.5 front, 20x10 rear) -Custom Projector Retrofit (FX-R 3.0, 6.5k HID, Morimoto Mini H1 (faux projector), Quad Starry Night Halos) ----- COMING SOON!! -Aftermarket Fog Lights -Custom Painted Engine Covers My Build Log: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/169869-woods-2011-altima-aka-red-ruby-new-video-more-updates/page-109 Retrofit Build Log: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/185787-hid-projector-retrofitting-diy-by-wood/#entry2765346
Wood
So I let a teammate build my enclosure this go around (low.n.loud on here) and I carpeted it and thru some all thread thru it... double baffle birch ply and althread should be plenty strong Will be using a 6" aero port... tuning will be at 35, but with the port being somewhat close to the rear of the enclosure, It's suppose to tune down to 32 by design.. should be nasty... designed by a teammate who won nationals and breaks 160s below the window line!! Here's the layout for how the sub, beauty piece around the all thread and trim that will be used to seal the enclosure (sub only used for test fit purpose) PS Yes I half ass cut the carpet lol The edges wont be seen anways 2011 Nissan Altima aka Red Ruby HEADUNIT: Pioneer AVH X2700BS ELECTRICAL: -Singer 230a -Northstar gr34 -(2) Northstar SMS220 w/ Custom Terminals from 12V Metalworkz -100% Welding Cable FRONT STAGE:-(2 Sets) Hertz HSK165 -Hertz HSK130 -Ampere Audio 125.4 SUB STAGE: -(3) Sundown Audio SA REV2 12's -Ampere Audio 3800.1 V2 MISC (NON AUDIO RELATED): -Interior & Exterior Lights LED -Gloss Black Roof (PAINTED) -15% Front, 5% Rear Tint -Roof Spoiler -20" TSW Snettertons (20x8.5 front, 20x10 rear) -Custom Projector Retrofit (FX-R 3.0, 6.5k HID, Morimoto Mini H1 (faux projector), Quad Starry Night Halos) ----- COMING SOON!! -Aftermarket Fog Lights -Custom Painted Engine Covers My Build Log: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/169869-woods-2011-altima-aka-red-ruby-new-video-more-updates/page-109 Retrofit Build Log: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/185787-hid-projector-retrofitting-diy-by-wood/#entry2765346
Wood
I mounted the fuse holder from the positive run to the rear to the factory fuse box lid with screw and nuts so it sits real nice in the engine bay! All wires ran to the rear.. Also you can see the baffle piece used to seal off .. I left extra material hanging from it on purpose... made sealing off a HELL of a lot easier!!! Here's the monster!!! I have my volt meter placed in the sub fuse holder temporarily while I finish troubleshooting and installing everything else... With the car in ACC, I'm sitting at 13.2 volts!! So I'm sure voltage won't be an issue when its all said and done lol Here's after I sealed it off completely!!! I used the excess material and flapped it over the edges and gorilla taped it for a complete initial seal off... Then I ran more gorilla tape over the fabric and overall edges, then I sprayed 1.5 cans of great stuff over everything!!! It was sealed off so good initially, I have 0 great stuff leak between the trim piece and enclosure, or any edges for that matter I will be building a beauty panel piece to hide all of the ugly!! 2011 Nissan Altima aka Red Ruby HEADUNIT: Pioneer AVH X2700BS ELECTRICAL: -Singer 230a -Northstar gr34 -(2) Northstar SMS220 w/ Custom Terminals from 12V Metalworkz -100% Welding Cable FRONT STAGE:-(2 Sets) Hertz HSK165 -Hertz HSK130 -Ampere Audio 125.4 SUB STAGE: -(3) Sundown Audio SA REV2 12's -Ampere Audio 3800.1 V2 MISC (NON AUDIO RELATED): -Interior & Exterior Lights LED -Gloss Black Roof (PAINTED) -15% Front, 5% Rear Tint -Roof Spoiler -20" TSW Snettertons (20x8.5 front, 20x10 rear) -Custom Projector Retrofit (FX-R 3.0, 6.5k HID, Morimoto Mini H1 (faux projector), Quad Starry Night Halos) ----- COMING SOON!! -Aftermarket Fog Lights -Custom Painted Engine Covers My Build Log: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/169869-woods-2011-altima-aka-red-ruby-new-video-more-updates/page-109 Retrofit Build Log: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/185787-hid-projector-retrofitting-diy-by-wood/#entry2765346
Wood
Here's how the A Pillars came out!! They will be wrapped in black vinyl and the center where the Tweeters sit will be painted my factory color for a two tone effect!! IMO they look VERY factory for what they are... I'm very happy with how the A Pillars came out... now I just need for my door panels to be as flawless lol 2011 Nissan Altima aka Red Ruby HEADUNIT: Pioneer AVH X2700BS ELECTRICAL: -Singer 230a -Northstar gr34 -(2) Northstar SMS220 w/ Custom Terminals from 12V Metalworkz -100% Welding Cable FRONT STAGE:-(2 Sets) Hertz HSK165 -Hertz HSK130 -Ampere Audio 125.4 SUB STAGE: -(3) Sundown Audio SA REV2 12's -Ampere Audio 3800.1 V2 MISC (NON AUDIO RELATED): -Interior & Exterior Lights LED -Gloss Black Roof (PAINTED) -15% Front, 5% Rear Tint -Roof Spoiler -20" TSW Snettertons (20x8.5 front, 20x10 rear) -Custom Projector Retrofit (FX-R 3.0, 6.5k HID, Morimoto Mini H1 (faux projector), Quad Starry Night Halos) ----- COMING SOON!! -Aftermarket Fog Lights -Custom Painted Engine Covers My Build Log: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/169869-woods-2011-altima-aka-red-ruby-new-video-more-updates/page-109 Retrofit Build Log: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/185787-hid-projector-retrofitting-diy-by-wood/#entry2765346
Wood
Last but not least... Here's how the front of the seal off look!! it came out EXACTLY how I vision it would be!! A NICE, CLEAN and FACTORY looking seal off... Once the Sub, Aero port and beauty piece got around the all thread, It will be Perfect (to me)!!! As you can see, no matter what angle you look at it, it is perfectly sealed, with no foam piercing thru the edges and all you see is the black vinyl for nice clean edges (which is why I left the excess material!) Once I build the beauty piece to hide the foam, everything will be in sync and look like it belongs which the goal I was shooting for!!! All I have left is to have my HU, Alternator and potentially my Mid/High Amp repaired, Cover the roof in the 100mil Knu deadening that I bought and install the sub and port (which I'm holding off until all troubleshooting is complete).. Oohh and rebuild my door panels.. Other then that, She's coming up on the finish line!! 2011 Nissan Altima aka Red Ruby HEADUNIT: Pioneer AVH X2700BS ELECTRICAL: -Singer 230a -Northstar gr34 -(2) Northstar SMS220 w/ Custom Terminals from 12V Metalworkz -100% Welding Cable FRONT STAGE:-(2 Sets) Hertz HSK165 -Hertz HSK130 -Ampere Audio 125.4 SUB STAGE: -(3) Sundown Audio SA REV2 12's -Ampere Audio 3800.1 V2 MISC (NON AUDIO RELATED): -Interior & Exterior Lights LED -Gloss Black Roof (PAINTED) -15% Front, 5% Rear Tint -Roof Spoiler -20" TSW Snettertons (20x8.5 front, 20x10 rear) -Custom Projector Retrofit (FX-R 3.0, 6.5k HID, Morimoto Mini H1 (faux projector), Quad Starry Night Halos) ----- COMING SOON!! -Aftermarket Fog Lights -Custom Painted Engine Covers My Build Log: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/169869-woods-2011-altima-aka-red-ruby-new-video-more-updates/page-109 Retrofit Build Log: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/185787-hid-projector-retrofitting-diy-by-wood/#entry2765346
