bassbang89 Posted June 10, 2013 Report Posted June 10, 2013 Hey I'm still new to the whole system thing and I was looking under the hood today and noticed that my fuse holder was starting to melt. And now my amp is not getting any power...any ideas of why it melted and also can that cause me not to get Amy power? BASS_BANG

If you have no power to the amp either your fuse blew or there is another break in your power wire that may be due to the fuse holder failure. Depending on if that break, if there us a break, is b4 the fuse connection that may be a dangerous situation Rolex you sicken me. Just let me finish my pie ~ Juice
Skullz Posted June 10, 2013 Report Posted June 10, 2013 Your connection at the fuse holder loosened and the resistance caused it to heat up to the point of melting the plastic. But if, and only of he has both the proper tools and proper terminals to crimp. Trying to do so without them is like trying to solder a terminal with a soldering iron. bassbang89 Posted June 10, 2013 Author Report Posted June 10, 2013 I'm running a hfi1500d amp with 4 gauge wire and yes it was a cheap plastic fuse holder. It was working fine wen I was riding around and then my amp just shut off at first I thought my amp just over heated and went into protect mode but that wasn't the case there was just no power going to it. And any suggestions of what kind of fuse holder is good? And I don't know how to posy a pic to the forum BASS_BANG
