SnowDrifter Posted June 12, 2013 Report Posted June 12, 2013 I found a blog forum on the issue, said the following : What do you guys think? Voltage Regulator Nearly every automobile alternator-generator unit is coupled with a voltage regulator, which determines the actual output of the alternator. The voltage regulator detects the charge level of the battery and can decrease the voltage output of the alternator once the battery is nearing full capacity. As a result, the voltage output from the alternator, as it produces electricity for the vehicle's battery, may drop once it has reached higher RPMs if the electrical load requirement is low.Read more: Why Does an Alternator Drop Voltage When Sped Up? | eHow http://www.ehow.com/info_7791228_alternator-drop-voltage-sped-up.html#ixzz2W11n1YWx Well... That's ehow... LOL That might only be true if your alts is PCM controlled. But it shouldn't drop into battery voltage when revved. ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444
