Strongest old school amp I personnaly owned was a Punch 200ix. the sexiest amps were the ppi art series, and the amps I respected the most were the Orion hcca.

Hifonics was badass back then, and some Crunch products were pretty damn nice. On another note, anyone remember how awesome the Hollywood subs with the green surrounds looked when they were hitting lol?

My first serious amp was a Foagate 100ix. Paid 510.00 for it and still have the recipt somewhere from Paradyme car audio in Sacramento. It was hooked to 2 Earthquake 15's in a sealed box in my Datsun 510 and boy did it slam. Had an Alpine on some Polk Audios EX's for the tunes.

Always turned down before I arrived anywhere and was stole in less than a month. Did even make a credit card payment.
