Carbon Posted June 16, 2013 Report Share Posted June 16, 2013 Okay guys so I have the Go Pro Hero. Recently filmed some demos from Agreenes car and uploaded them. The day time quality is great but the night time quality is complete shit. Its time for a new one. Does anyone have experience with the Hero 2? Im bidding on a few on ebay. The reason... I have EVERY accessory for the damn thing. The screen, battery, remote, wifi pack, every mount, every housing. I even have aftermarket upgraded aluminum fittings all over it. All of these will work with the hero 2. None of the parts except the mounts will work with the hero 3. So my question is...It looks like I can get a Hero 2 for about 100-150 bucks. VS the hero 3 is $400 + all the accessories add another $200-300. Is the Hero 2 a good choice? Also, My GoPro records TERRIBLE audio. The Hero 2 has the input for an external Mic. Don't forget you can sell your current Hero + accessories and make back a few bucks. meade916 Posted June 17, 2013 Report Share Posted June 17, 2013 i have 2 GoPro 3 Black edition's..... i like how they look in the DAY TIME but if it gets dark, forget about it. The sounds SUCK for anything besides sports. For sports (and motorsports) it is awesome, and i love how my exhaust sounds when its stuck to the side of my car. Better then the original, which i also have, but still sucks for anything car audio related. If its broad daylight and i had something else recording sound it would be ok. But anything other then bright sunlight and anything with just a little bit of bass in it SUCKS. If they sounded better, i would be able to deal with the night time thing, i have other camera's. I even got an external mic to see if that helps and it DIDN'T. I like mine, but in the same breath, i also regret buying them. Actually, i bought one and the wife got me the other for Christmas, so i didn't actually go buy 2 of them. they are good but the sound ruin's it for me (for what we do). I am back to my Sony Cybershot camera. The gopro will come out once in a while because i have so much money in them, but not very often.
