The reason I'm asking is because, I always wanted to start a clothing line. And now, older and more aware, I have someone who can help make designs and such, but the real question is, how do I get the business license. I want one because I would like to sell the clothes, and also buy it for WHOLESALE price, and not RETAIL price. I live in California and I'm 18 years old. Thanks.! There are all these classes you have to take o integrity and stuff and pass a basic test before you can be approved for a business license. It's not that hard if you study for it Tell me...does this smell like chloroform to you?

Or you could look up if your city has a online application you can print. I don't know about other states, but California doesn't require any tests for a business license, you do have to pay a fee though. If you're going to do retail or wholesale the license is free to California residents. I went to my city hall and they recommended I turn in the application in person so I could get any errors fixed right then and there, so you might want to do that just to ease the process. It's not that hard if you study for it Where is that the law? In NY you just need to fill out a few forms and pay the fees.
