Even consider using heat shields on your batteries? That might help the lower charging voltage, because I know that when the battery is hot the pcm drops the voltage.

Thanks for the tip, I'll look into it. But it just seems like even in that case thing (I have seen them and know what you're talking about) that in the hot summer it's still gonna be sweltering under the hood for hours on end with or without them?

Well, yeah might not be perfect. I know that for me if I'm sitting in traffic on a hot day the voltage is at 13.8 but as soon as I get out on the highway it picks up to the 14s. Though I can't say that it gets nearly as hot where I live.
