Karkov Posted June 28, 2013 Report Posted June 28, 2013 Maybe this has been talked about before but I am wondering why people use resin instead of just brushing on some Titebond inside of a enclosure to seal it up. Both dry hard, Most here seem to love and stand behind Titebond, wouldn't it seal it equally in the end or no? Just a though since it is cheaper. Other uses yea, would have to use resin but just for sealing inside a box I would think they would adhere to wood about the same. Chris Hammer Posted June 28, 2013 Report Posted June 28, 2013 I don't just do seams, I coat the enitre enclosure in resin..Some UV cure resin. Drys fast as hell in the sun and you can paint in a few minutes if you don't get drips. When I glue my boxes up, I will run my finger around all the inside edges to turn the glue drips into a nice seam. The reason resin is nice to coat your enclosure in is the mdf is wayyyyy easier to paint after. If you dont coat MDF it will soak up rattle can paint like a SOB....so a little resin coating the entire thing keeps that from happening. Honeslty if you use a bondo spreader and a brush for tight spot you don't use that much resin. I have a quart thats lasted two kickpanels(failed trys) and my Tline and a ported 12" enclosure. Thoughts? titebond doesn't work like that....it's for gluing joints, and with nice cuts the glue will do it's job in sealing the edges Can't really spread it around the whole inside of the box, I guess you could but you wouldn't want to Team Flex Issues

You wanna whipe TBIII all over the sides... it will probably work. But, cost wise.
