Along with everyone leaving out the main factor behind how the sub will respond in the box, the actual port velocity.

yea you can build boxes that are too big all day long but if the port velocity was to low then the sub. Will shit itself not far around t he tuning hz

Did anyone else miss the fact he has two D2 subs? He isn't going to overpower these subs, he is going to underpower them. Unless he want to wire at .5......

I don't plan on wiring it down to .5 ohm since my electrical at this point can't handle it just 1 ohm daily and MAYBE .5 when I'm metering it

You cant wire to 1ohm with two D2 subs

You can't? I thought if you parallel them to each other the final impedance bridged at the amp would 1 ohm? Educate me lol

6 cubes for 2 12's? why?! thats gigantic! literally needs to be half that size. and thats not a maybe.

the woofers wont see 2k. probably like 1500rms, if that even. voltage drop + box rise = never getting rated power out of the amp.

Sundown calls for 2.5 spec for a SA 12 so the box designer at my work is taking a gamble to see how it sounds and if it sounds like shit we're going to build a 5 cube box

As someone who has ran an sa-12 in a 2.6cuft box, I can tell you that it is too big. 2.25 is about perfect to handle what you are throwing at it IMO.

i hate hate absolutely hate this statement. one 2.6 cube box is not the same as another 2.6 cube box

Like it or not the SAs aren't big-box woofers like those SQ subs you have

I learned this the hard way last summer when I 'tried' to build my own box without calculating it correctly. Long story I built a 3.5 cube box with 46.5 inches of port length with the width of the port being 3 inches the whole way through. Woops

That amp isnt bridgeable, its a mono amp. So all parrellel would be .5, or parrellel the coils and series the two sets and it will be 2 ohms. I'm sure someone will post some diagrams.

If you had a single sub you could. But not with a pair. There is no way you can wire 4, 2 ohm coils to 1 ohm. It isn't possible

Suspension stiffness, cone weight, effective cone area, motor force, suspension and coil travel, etc.

So in theory the final load on the amp will be 2 ohm and realistically the amp will only be doing 1100 watts?
