Maybe he was just saying that to discourage people from running 16v because it could void the warranty. Does sundown warranty your amp if you run it to 16v? I dont think RF will.....I've never had that issue come up, but it sounds like a good question for me to ask the owner. I got big things comming, people just dont believe the words comming out of my mouth When I float my voltage around 16.7 the amp turns off and on, but I can crank my regulator up passed 16v with no stepdown regulators and not have any electrical problems with my car or amps, although the voltage is dropping to around 16.2 or so under full load. The amp is putting out a crazy amount of power which Im not going to say what it is but its getting up there. Im very pleased in the performance from a $200 amp that is being ran at about .8 ohms, 2 missing resistors, and well over the rated voltage. Also props again Steve for the remote knob, that does wonders too Ill put a video up in the vid section soon. Oh and I think it was one of roscoes teammates at the shop that said something about their 40001bd's being modded to take all that voltage, but I forget. Was your car running? im only askin cus' a 16v system, with 16v batts should charge at 18v while running just like a 12v system charges at 14 when running. Like i said, a true 16v setup is also an 18v setup not just an alt cranked way to high. Get 16v batts, then let me know if that amp still plays fine.....i think it needs protect removed to do it and of course RF will never recommend that.
